Sabbath School
The Perrine Sabbath School focuses on four main goals: faith, fellowship, community, and world mission.
- Faith: The Sabbath School members study their Sabbath School lesson daily and are able to participate in the lesson study each Sabbath. The Sabbath School Department invites teachers to attend Teachers Meeting on Sabbath afternoon in an effort to have each teacher more prepared for discussion.
- Fellowship: The hospitality team headed by Elder Beckford and Sis. Giselle Holness, are doing a magnificent job of fostering a friendly environment for all members and visitors and will continue to do so for the year 2007. Many Sabbath School classes have fellowship dinners where members and friends become better acquainted. The Youth and Collegiate classes have fellowship dinners monthly. The annual Sabbath School picnic, another avenue for fellowship, will be held in August, 2007.
- Community: The Sabbath School Department and the Personal Ministries Department work together work for the spiritual needs of the community. Weekly visits are made to the nursing homes, as well as monthly feeding of the hungry. The children are engaged in monthly literature distribution. The annual Community Guest Day is usually the last Sabbath of May. On this day we extend a special invitation to everyone in the community to fellowship with us. Several members of the community are honored for outstanding services. Our young people will hold their annual Youth Evangelistic meetings in July, 2007. Additionally, once a month they conduct Bible Study in the park. They also invite their friends to After Glow, a weekly Friday night meeting, where topics are discussed based on their interests. Vacation Bible School is held in July where we minister to children in the community as well as our own.
- World Mission: Financially supporting missionaries. Each quarter the members make a financial contribution to the gospel missions in foreign lands.
